Route 66 Roadside Attraction Signs

We all love signage, and signs along Historic Route 66 help us to enjoy and explain many destinations. In the early 2000s, Hampton Inn’s Save a Landmark program was involved in the installation of “Roadside Attraction” signs.

Over the years, some of these signs have become faded, damaged or just disappeared. Groups such as the Oklahoma Route 66 Association have been involved in restoring or replacing some of these old signs.

The first replacement signs went up in August 2022 at the Blue Whale of Catoosa.

We remember our many Route 66 road trips, and the fun days we've had in Catoosa, Cuba, Glenrio, Gallup, Oatman, Pontiac, Barstow, Tucumcari and Seligman. We remember those road trips to Holbrook, Winslow, Amboy, Joplin, Shamrock, Elk City, Galena and Springfield ... and so many more!

And we remember those "Roadside Attraction" signs ... here is a sampling of those we have seen, and photographed over the years!
